Scream 4 Extended Trailer

Posted in Horrorrr with tags , , , , , , on January 21, 2011 by Nick Caruso

There’s a new Scream 4 trailer – and this one’s over two minutes long!

The anticipation is destroying my LIFE right now, man. (I literally have a Scream 4 clipping from EW on my fridge right now. NERD ALERT!)

If the new No Doubt record drops in April as well – I shall declare it the MONTH OF THE WINSLOW. Or Winslow Week. Or something extremely, much more ridiculously clever than either of those suggestions.

From Lugosi to Leatherface, Horror Gallery Offers Nightmares for All

The ol’ gf and I went a-weekending up in Salem, Massachusetts and stumbled upon this nifty little treat: Count Orlok’s Nightmare Gallery, located at 285 Derby Street.

The museum is comprised of figures from some of the best horror movies put to film. Old and new are represented – you can check out the Bride of Frankenstein hanging out by the entrance near Bela Lugosi’s Dracula. Figures from The Exorcist, Salem’s Lot, It, and a ton more can be found on the 25-minute walking tour.

The make-up is top notch, done by Hollywood special effects artists, and the ambiance is just as radical. Sounds of horror permeate through as you make your way down dark hallways and sharp corners. Plaques with fun trivia are at every figure, so you’ll even learn something too! Some of the statues are so incredibly well-done that if you stare at them long enough, they’ll pierce your soul – you can really freak yourself out in there.

If you love scary movies, you must visit this Horror themed Madame Toussad’s-esque museum. And say hello to the guy out front for me:

Count Orlok’s Nightmare Gallery costs $8 for adults, and $6 for kids and students. You can visit them on Facebook too!

K-Kinda Bus-y, K-Kinda Bus-y

Remember when I said that Scream was the best series ever? IT’S TRUE, dammit!  But ya gotta love it when Pop Culture worlds collide. I don’t know where this photo comes from (probably some 14 year old sitting in his parents basement), but damn did I get a cackle or twelve when Doom Cake sent me this one.

Happy weekend – Watch lots of scary movies, kids!

‘Scream’ is the best horror series known to MAN

Scream 4 is filming. Horror fans around the world, rejoice!

OK…so maybe I’m overhyping this messiah to the genre film a little too much, but c’mon! The Cox-Arquettes are in, as is Neve Campbell. Wes Craven is back in action, with a screenplay from original writer Kevin Williamson. That’s at least a good start, right?

The fourth Scream film is also boasting a fresh, young cast including Hayden Panetitereirereree (Save the Cheerleader!), Rory Culkin, and Emma Roberts. Plus, the movie will have appearances by Kristen Bell, Anna Paquin (Sook-eh!), and Alison Brie.

EW posted this First Look at Scream 4:

One of my biggest fears about this movie is that they are going to “Laurie Strode” Sidney, Gail, and/or Dewey. I can accept that one of them is bound to die (tear, sadface), but if all three bite it, I’m not so sure how I’ll be able to LIVEEEE.  And in this photo, Gail looks like she’s in trouble!

My mind is already reeling! Maybe Sid has gone crazy and is the killer! Maybe a copycat wants to “reboot the series”! Maybe Deputy Dewey is trying to salvage Gail’s slightly weathered (HA! Get it?) career?

The possibilities are endless. April 15th, 2011 can’t come quickly enough.

First look: Scre4m teaser poster

Two years ago, the Weinsteins announced a reboot of the Scream franchise – a fourth movie that would possibly kick off a brand new trilogy. I, a diehard Scream fan was against it. Over the course of time, new light has been shed on the project, making me slighly more optimistic about the series’ future.

Everyone is back! Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox-Arquette, and David Arquette have all agreed to reprise their roles. This is good news! The downside to this? One of these three characters will probably be killed off – most likely Sidney Prescott – and that will be mostly devastating.

Wes Craven is set to direct! The man’s a horror icon! He was there from the beginning, and to have him give the OK on Scre4m definitely eases some anxieties. And to add…

…Kevin Williamson wrote the fourth film. Williamson took a break on Scream 3, handing writing duties over to Ehren Kruger (who didn’t really do the series justice). Having Williamson and Craven back is some sweet, sweet icing on one of my favorite cakes.

At this time, I fear there is nothing else for me to do but get a running start and jump on this speeding train. The fanboy inside me can now rest knowing that Craven and Williamson won’t throw the series off a cliff to its death.

Scre4m starts filming this summer in Michigan. For a kickass interview with Wes Craven, head over here.

Sequel to ‘My Name is Bruce’ confirmed

Posted in Check this bee.., Horrorrr with tags , , , on January 20, 2010 by Nick Caruso

…and by none other than the big man himself: BRUCE CAMPBELL.

The ‘Bruce’ sequel is entitled: “Bruce vs. Frankenstein” and begins shooting this fall in Oregon. Campbell wrote in to Ain’t It Cool News saying:

“Hello everyone. Bruce Campbell here. This urgent message is short, because my keystrokes are monitored and I fear for my life. My partner at Dark Horse comics, Mike Richardson (normally a very rational and talented man), threatened to have his foot soldiers “crush my spleen” if I did what I am about to do. But the fans deserve to know, so with great trepidation I officially announce Bruce Vs. Frankenstein, the sequel to My Name is Bruce. Principal photography begins this fall in Oregon. I’d like to live long enough to see the cameras roll, so please, for the love of God, do not tell anyone – I can’t risk this announcement getting back to Mike! Thank you.”

In the original film, Campbell plays a fictionalized, douchebag-version of himself – a star with a huge head, and little time or patience for those around him. When ancient Chinese God of war Guan-Di is awoken and begins terrorizing the locals, an uber-fan calls upon the B-movie star to be the savior of his home town.

Horror and comedy aficionados alike should absolutely watch “Bruce” – especially if you’re a fan of Campbell’s or that silly series about those evil dead things…(I say ‘silly’ with all the love in my heart, trust.).

Add it to your queue! And hey! You can watch it instantly!
